our magic winter forest elves...

Slowly but surely, patches of forest ground and tree trunks are emerging from under a thick coat of ivy. This is the work of our trusty forest stewards...people from the community who have reached out and signed up to adopt a patch and tend to it.

If you wear gloves (ivy juice can be an irritant) and set a goal to clear a small patch at a time, it is wonderful to be out working in the quiet of the trees. As one forest steward wrote: "It was heavenly in there this afternoon. My happy place."

Just don't look up too often while you are pulling ivy...the view of how far we have to go can be daunting! One step at a time...we will get there.

Thanks Yvonne, for sending us this photo.
